Our ‘Word / Phrase of the Week will teach you a variety of words and phrases commonly used in Croatia, but not commonly found in language learning material.

Today’s phrase:

ne zna ni ‘ko pije ni ‘ko plaća

The phrase ne zna ni ‘ko pije ni ‘ko plaća is basically a phrase used to sum up when you can not make head nor tail of a situation. Can be for complete disorganisation or chaos. It is often used when something is not really clear what is going on when looking at it and can be used for a number of cases which lacks organisation or order. The literal translation is – You don’t know who is drinking or who is paying.
